Assessment design

Integrating AI responsibly and creatively into the classroom

Cohort of Learners: VET educators undertaking professional development

Rationale: A gap analysis of VET educators identified that they felt overwhelmed by AI and had a limited understanding of how the tools could be integrated appropriately into lesson planning or assessment design.

The learning outcomes are designed to scaffold the development of both foundational and advanced skills. Students (educators) will evaluate and apply AI tools in pedagogically sound, engaging, and ethically informed ways. The learning outcomes align with the cognitive processes outlined in the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy framework.

The course offers a multimodal approach that has been designed to maximise engagement and the practical application of AI tools. Accessibility has been considered in how course material is presented. This unit has been built around the Community of Inquiry approach and supports the online learning principles of social, cognitive and teaching presence.

Course assets were created using AI tools: Gamma, Synthesia, NotebookLM, SynMirage, Canva, Diffit and Perplexity. Developed in BrightSpace LMS.
