Tree House Cubby
Leah Vandenburg
Tree House Cubby began as a response to the COVID-19 lockdown on residents living in Melbourne’s public house towers. It was a program of twenty, live online episodes delivered via Zoom. The interactive play dates created an immersive experience for children to connect with each other, share experiences and engage with First Nations People’s art and culture.
My role included remotely operating the show presenter’s computer via TeamViewer to control background effects, cue music and prepare appropriate learning resources for children. Each show was centered around a theme and was scripted with special guest presenters appearing in each episode such as Alex Papps from Play School and Indigenous Gamilaraay artist Mitch Tambo.
